The new Samsung ATIV S has almost the same design as the Samsung Galaxy S3. The one difference that you will find Samsung Galaxy ATIV S is that the Windows logo that is located significantly on the home button. The build has a quality feel to it, in spite of the fact that the metal back is not actually metal but it still gives a nice and solid feel. Samsung Galaxy ATIV S weighs 4.8 ounces and it is 0.34 inches think.
You will find a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the phone and at the bottom a micro USB port. On the left side you will find the volume rocker and a camera button on the right side. You might sometimes hit the volume rocker by mistake while holding the smart phone in one hand. Under the back cover will find a space for micro SIM and a micros SD card slot.
Samsung ATIV S has a 4.8 inches Super AMOLED HD screen with 1280 x 720 resolutions. This is the same display as the Samsung Galaxy S3. The display quality is good and the viewing angels are quite wide. The colors are rich and well balanced.
Samsung ATIV S is powered by a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 with 1 GB RAM. The performance is fast and smooth. 3D games are lag free while page rendering in Internet Explorer is quick. The battery will last for a full day with moderate usage.
Software and Camera
Samsung ATIV S runs on Windows 8. It has the same Windows 8 Live Tile user interface. The on screen keyboard of Windows 8 is still easy to use. It comes with apps like Chat On, Music Hub with 7digital music store, Family Story app, Live Wall papers, Mini Diary app, a Photo Editor and a weather app.
You can easily remove and delete the Samsung ATIV S apps and you can also re-download them by going to Windows Phone Store’s Samsung Zone section.
The 8 megapixel camera and the front facing 1.9 megapixel camera of Samsung Galaxy ATIV S perform moderately in low light situations. The camera has a mix result of high and moderate quality. Overall the picture quality of Samsung Galaxy ATIV S is good in a reasonably lighted place, especially in the sun light. The video quality is better than the image quality and you can make quite pleasurable videos.
